Affording a lawyer can be difficult or tricky, however, Bachelani Law Offices wants to help as many people as possible, so flexible payment plans, retainers, contingent fees and indigent options are available. The amount of hourly billing will vary depending on the case and client. However, Bachelani Law Offices aims to be competitive and just with pricing. Please see the actual contract that is signed by both parties for hourly billing rates.
A lawyer is going to be expensive both in terms of monetary considerations but also emotional well-being. I understand that not all clients are going to be able to pay upfront, therefore flexible payment arrangements may be made. These will be vary depending what is agreed to by both parties, whether its a lump sum and then small payments after that or monthly/weekly arrangements. Please see your client contract for specifics.
A retainer is a lump sum payment at the start of the attorney client relationship. From there it is deposited into a client trust account and when the legal issue is finally settled or attorney client relationship has culminated, than the attorney will remove the proper funds and refund the rest to the client. However, there may not always be a refund or there may be a bill for extra costs instead.
Part of the philosophy of Bachelani Law Offices is that the Twin Cities and Minnesota community has given much to this office and starting of this office and therefore, it is a goal to give back. If you do not qualify for free legal aid elsewhere but cannot afford an attorney at full price, just bring a copy of your 1040 tax return and a sliding scale may be arranged. Not everyone will qualify elsewhere but Bachelani Law Offices is willing to work with you.
Some cases are handled on a Contingent Fee basis. This
means you do not pay the attorney fees up front. If
there is a recovery of money, the attorney fees &
expenses are charged against the recovery. Bachelani
Law Offices will determines when this applies. This is not always an option but when the right case comes along, it is up to the client to choose this option when provided by the attorney.
Generally there is no charge for an initial
consultation unless you actually retain me to
perform your legal work. This generally includes the
items listed in our practice areas. I reserve the right
to charge for some types of legal consultations based on
our experience. When
you call for an appointment I will let you know up
front.
